For a useful bug report, include the app version, device model, iOS or iPadOS version, the steps that caused the issue, and what you expected to happen. You may include flight numbers, travel dates, airport codes and screenshots if you are comfortable sharing them. Remove any personal information first.
Do not send passwords, API keys, airline booking references or PNRs, passport information, payment details, or unredacted reservation documents. Support does not need them to investigate calculator issues.
Frequently asked questions
Does the app book tickets or show a final Aeroplan quote?
No. Award Calculator is an independent planning tool. It calculates fixed-chart estimates for reward cabins, including Air Canada and supported partners. It does not calculate dynamic pricing, reserve seats or issue tickets. The final price, taxes, availability and ticketing eligibility must be confirmed with Aeroplan.
How many flights can I add?
An itinerary can contain up to 12 segments. After calculation, the app groups them into up to six bounds, with up to six segments per bound, and shows stopovers and the fare-brand choices supported by the calculation.
Why can a published flight have no confirmed award availability?
A published schedule shows that a service is listed; it does not mean a reward seat is available. FlightAware supplies published flight schedules. Seats.aero supplies cached Aeroplan award information. A missing cached match or a failed lookup does not prove that no award seats exist. An exact cached match can still change before booking.
Can I change automatically filled times?
Yes. Search by flight number and date, or by route and date, and keep manual overrides when you need to test a scenario. Changing the lookup date queries that date. Manual times remain editable; use the schedule-time option to return to automatic times. Dates and times are local to each airport.
Why is a connection preventing a price?
A connection below its applicable published minimum connection time (MCT) blocks the entire itinerary estimate, even if the flights are in different bounds. MCT can depend on the airport pair, operating carrier, domestic or international transfer and terminals. Add terminal information where known.
What does “MCT not verified” mean?
The bundled database has limited official-rule coverage. If no fully applicable rule can be established, the app permits a fixed-chart estimate and marks the connection “MCT not verified”. This is not confirmation that the connection is practical or bookable. Check with the operating airline, especially for airport changes.
How are Landline buses treated?
Supported Air Canada Landline services use the same fixed-chart and distance logic as air segments and are Economy-only. Each bound must include an air flight: any bus-only bound blocks the entire itinerary estimate. A bus next to a non-Air Canada flight carries a booking warning. Published bus schedules or cash seat sales do not confirm Aeroplan award availability, and applicable MCT checks still apply.
Do I need a personal API key?
The app provides default Seats.aero and FlightAware connections. You can select personal keys in Flight data settings. A personal key is stored in this device’s Keychain and authenticates requests to its provider. Switching to a default connection keeps a personal key saved until you explicitly remove it; a failed request does not automatically switch accounts.
Can I calculate without a successful lookup?
Yes. You can enter or override itinerary information and use the fixed-price planning features without confirmed online award availability. Provider errors and unknown availability are shown separately. To avoid automatic network searches, use the app offline.
Where is my itinerary stored?
Your draft and saved itineraries are stored on your device. The app has no account system or its own cross-device itinerary sync. Flight-data queries go directly to the relevant providers; see the privacy policy for details.
